How rude!

I can take a lot of abuse, and the more personal the easier it seems to be. Particularly if it comes from drunks because I know its the alcohol talking and not the person.
However this week I was called ‘rude’! Which I am not!
A party of 8 approached the door. One decided to jump into the licenced area without paying and possessing his own alcoholic beaverage. We removed him and I told him he was too intoxicated to come in. Another in the party then demonstrated how drunk he was by calling me various un-original names and swaying towards me in a preemptive way. While I positioned myself ready to defend and became more alert - a lady in the party asked if there was a cover charge!
Without looking I pointed to the sign next to her head which detailed the information she asked about. The party moved their drunken friend on and I refocused to her asking if she was ready to go in. She said that I was rude in not answering her question and just pointing – this while her drunk friend was getting ready for a punching match with me! She then said she was leaving.
The amusing thing was, the next group of people thought she was a complete looser, but I still felt annoyed that someone would consider my behaviour to be ‘rude’!
